Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has announced the phase II of e-invoicing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). It also prescribed the features of a complaint e-invoice solution, and a cryptographic stamp is one of them. After obtaining the CSID, you can revoke it whenever needed. This article explains the reasons for the revocation of CSID under KSA e-invoicing.
Revocation means the cancellation of the CSID. You can revocate CSIDs manually, or ZATCA might automatically revoke your CSIDs. The reasons for the revocation of CSIDs are listed down below:
You can manually revocate the existing CSIDs for any reason, including:
● If you believe that the private key or the EGS unit is compromised
● If the EGS unit is discontinued or transferred to another taxpayer, or sold
● If you discovered that the information in the CSID is inaccurate
● If the EGS unit is lost, stolen, or damaged
● If the EGS unit has been onboarded in an unauthorized way
● If there is a significant upgrade in the EGS unit
Also, ZATCA can automatically revoke the CSIDs of taxpayers when the VAT registration number (TRN) status on the ERAD changes from active or reactive to deregistered or suspended.
Here’s the step-by-step process for manual revocation of CSIDs:
Step 1: You have to access Fatoora portal through a dedicated website.
Step 2: You will be logged in to ERAD.
Step 3: You will be redirected to the Fatoora portal.
Step 4: You can view the list of onboarded solutions/devices.
Step 5: You have to select the EGS units/devices whose cryptographic stamp identifier is required to be revoked from the list and give a confirmation.
Step 6: e-Invoicing platform requests the ZATCA CA to revoke the cryptographic stamp identifiers.
Step 7: ZATCA revocates the cryptographic stamp identifiers.
Step 8: e-Invoicing platform reflects the revocation of the cryptographic stamp identifiers.
Step 9: You can check the revocation status through Fatoora portal.
Here’s the step-by-step process for automatic revocation by ZATCA:
Step 1: You or your group is deregistered from VAT on ERAD or suspended TRN.
Step 2: e-Invoicing platform automatically receives the confirmation of deregistration or suspension.
Step 3: e-Invoicing platform automatically requests the ZATCA CA to revoke the CSIDs associated with you/ your group’s EGS units/devices.
Step 4: ZATCA CA automatically revocate the cryptographic stamp identifier.
Step 5: Your/ your group CSIDs will stand revoked
